Gigapxmedia Design Collaboration

We have just installed our Collaboration Section of Gigapxmedia. Clients can login to this part of our website in order to track changes, propose and approve revisions, add text and photos and download the final project files. The utility is based on the ever so useful Base Camp developed by 37 Signals.

This also makes our designers/developers lives easy when handling multiple projects at once. So many things can slip through the cracks with out this app.

Usage for the client is simple. Log in with the provided username and password and the dashboard view will appear on your screen with several tabs to choose from.

Overview, shows the track record of the project including milestones. Milestones are major events in the design/development phase of your project and are very useful because they also allow us to assign required steps to members of the project for completion. “if we need the client to provide us with textual content before we can move any further, Project will allow us to assign this task to the client. It shows up in an email to them, notifying the client to create the text content in a text document. Then the client can upload this into the project to be used by us.” states Kris Rosario, one of the lead designers at Gigapxmedia.

Other functions supported is a messaging system tied into images and other content that eliminates email tag between the designer and client. A task list to show the client what is needed in order to reach the next phase. And the files tab handles uploading and downloading of any files pertaining to the project.

Over all a useful app.
